Pressurized dual-seal support package built for toxic, flammable, corrosive, abrasive, polymerizing and high-vapor-pressure process liquids, where a barrier pressure above seal-chamber pressure is required to support zero-atmospheric-leakage system design.
Plan 53A uses an external nitrogen source to pressurize the barrier fluid in an integrated reservoir. The package combines reservoir, pumping ring, cooler and pressure, level and temperature instrumentation with alarms, giving seal chambers a controlled barrier pressure above seal-chamber pressure. Available in SS304, SS316L or project-specific alloy.
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Model | 53A |
| System type | Barrier-fluid system for dual mechanical seals |
| Pressurization method | External nitrogen source |
| Barrier pressure principle | Barrier pressure maintained above seal-chamber pressure |
| Pressure, volume, cooling area | Project-specific |
| Wetted construction materials | SS304, SS316L or project-specific alloy |
| Included instruments | Pressure, level and temperature instruments with alarms |
| Integrated components | Reservoir, pumping ring, cooler |
The 53A and 53B share the same barrier-fluid support concept but differ in pressurization method. Select 53A when a plant nitrogen supply is available and continuous barrier pressure from an external source fits the seal arrangement. Select 53B where a nitrogen-precharged bladder accumulator is preferred for barrier pressure storage. Reservoir volume and cooler area are quoted per project.
Wetted parts are produced in SS304, SS316L or a project-specific alloy. Structurally the package integrates a reservoir, a pumping ring that circulates barrier fluid, a cooler for heat removal, and pressure, level and temperature instrumentation with alarms — assembled so the seal support loop can be monitored as a single system.
Suited to processes handling toxic, flammable, corrosive, abrasive, polymerizing and high-vapor-pressure liquids where dual mechanical seals require a controlled barrier fluid. Typical service contexts include chemical processing, MVR evaporation and crystallization circuits, pharmaceutical and fine chemical transfer, electroplating and surface-treatment baths, and industrial wastewater or chemical sump duties where containment of the pumped medium is a design priority.
Pressure rating, reservoir volume and cooling area are engineered per project. Material grade can be set to SS304, SS316L or a project-specific alloy, and the instrument and alarm set can be aligned with the site control philosophy. Share the process medium, temperature, seal chamber pressure and available nitrogen supply when requesting a configuration.
A 2025 supply contract with an environmental technology company covered a 22-pump process package for MVR evaporation, high-altitude process transfer, circulation, slurry discharge and utility service, and included technical acceptance, manuals/certificates and project-specific warranty obligations. Operating KPI results were not disclosed. The package mixed TA2, 316L and polymer materials and documented an FJX-900 duty of Q=7,800 m³/h, H=3 m.
1. How does Plan 53A differ from Plan 53B?
Plan 53A uses an external nitrogen source to pressurize the barrier fluid; Plan 53B uses a nitrogen-precharged bladder accumulator instead.
2. What pressure does the system operate at?
Barrier pressure is held above seal-chamber pressure. The actual pressure is project-specific and is set from your seal and process data.
3. Which materials are available?
SS304, SS316L or a project-specific alloy.
4. What is included in the package?
An integrated reservoir, pumping ring, cooler, and pressure, level and temperature instruments with alarms.
5. Which process liquids is it intended for?
Toxic, flammable, corrosive, abrasive, polymerizing and high-vapor-pressure liquids where dual mechanical seals are used.
6. Is the reservoir volume fixed?
No. Pressure, volume and cooling area are quoted per project.
7. Do you provide manuals and certificates with the package?
Documentation, acceptance and warranty obligations are defined per supply contract. Confirm the required document set with the sales contact.
